180 Africa

In 2013 a new area of The 180 Project was established called 180 Africa. In South Africa we are partnered with The Sozo Foundation, an NGO working in the townships on the edge of the Cape Flats. 180 Africa are helping to enable Sozo to implement a holistic development approach to four key areas within the communities; education, social upliftment, food security and micro enterprise.

In 2012 we organised a trip for 4 UK students to visit Cape Town, South Africa. In 2013 we took 16 students and young people to the same location. During these two trips our teams were able to support Sozo by engaging in three aspects of the work they do; Sozo Eden, Sozo Educentre and Sozo Boutique.

The work we do with 180 Africa aims to help The Sozo foundation achieve their goals; to SAVE a suffering society through empowerment and social change, to RESCUE a generation of future leaders from cruel anonymity and to PRESERVE communities through education, restoration and sustainability.
